My Life Next Door by Fitzpatrick
I started to read My Life Next Door earlier today while on the ferry and as I write this post, I’m getting ready to board the ferry again.
I have had this book for a while and was always putting it off in my tbr pile but now I wanted to tackle it. When I first saw it I thought it reminded me of On the Fence by Kasie West. I just find it interesting when a book is written and neighbors are a big part of the story plot. It reminds me of the quote “It take a whole village to raise a child”.
I am up to page 144, chapter 20, so I have a pretty good idea of the book so far.
It is about Samantha Reeds who lives next door to a very large, loud and happy family, the Garrett, that is the exact opposite of what her family was. She grew up always gazing at them from her window, dining room or porch. They amazed her and she was curious. Until one day she isn’t just looking but actually interacting with one of the Garretts! Then its all of them and her whole summer and routine has changed.
So far I truly like what I’m reading and the writing is great. She tackles many issues that are ever present in families of today’s generation and hopefully the second half of the book is just as amazing as the first. This is my first Fitzpatrick book and I’m sure I’ll be looking for more from her.
